Manfeild loses NIERDC grand final

NIERDC has announced a date and venue change for the third and final round of their NZ Endurance Championship Series, citing Mansfield’s management’s inability to secure a change to their extremely limited noise resource consent.

The third round will now be run on the Hampton Downs International Circuit.

“We are very grateful to Josie Spillane, CEO of the three Tony Quinn-owned race circuits, for assisting us at short notice and providing us with exclusive use of the rarely-used International race circuit, on the 15th of June 2024, for our Grand Final,” said Chairman of the North Island Endurance Racing Drivers Club Mark Petch.

“Unfortunately, it appears that Manfeild’s Circuit Amon cannot and will not be able to add any further 95 Db race days than they currently have, which means that unless an existing hireage party vacates their historical rights, NIERDC will not be able to return to Manfeild in the foreseeable future.”

Entries for this year’s NIERDC series will open on the 1st of March, 2024. Meanwhile, expressions of interest can be lodged at https://www.nierdc.com/
